STUDIO FOCUS | NANCY CALLAN
keeping our balance…
March 21, 2020
This is a stressful and strange time for all of us, but like many I am finding this quieter time can be used to refocus on things that are really important. Keeping in close touch with family and friends, spending more time in nature, reading more -- these are the unexpected gifts of the moment. I've been pulling books off the shelves and spending quality time with some of my favorite artists and discovering new ones. I'm grateful for my art library and my beautiful studio, right outside of my house. The hot shops in Seattle are closed, so I am doing other types of work: drawing and dreaming up new ideas, learning to apply gold leaf to glass and doing kiln work. Having a creative outlet whether it is gardening, art, writing or just day-dreaming is essential to keeping our balance right now. For me, art is a journey of discovery and a way to reflect and express the beauty in our world. Schantz Galleries is like a family to me and I am so appreciative of the community that we have. I hold each of you in my heart and find strength in how we support each other.
Love, Nancy
