Jon Goldberg
Glass fascinates Jon, and he creates sculpture that explores its unique properties - reflection, refraction and translucency. His work is distinctly three-dimensional, primarily thick-walled and solid work with an internal structure contained within a simple glass form. Facets and curved surfaces are carved into the form to create the finished sculpture. These surfaces provide windows and act as internally-reflective elements.
Jon is inspired by patterns in nature and the cycle of life. Abstracted life forms (Organisms) reside within the sculptures. As the series develops, so do the Organisms, changing form, evolving, gaining new and losing vestigial attributes.
